Tangible: Things that you can touch (actually perception by touch)
Intangible: unable to be touch.
Why in the whole wide world am I starting with something that is related to economics? I will come to that by the end of this piece of text. While explaining this concept across articles I found the objects that you touch are tangible for example my phone, my watch, the dining table, the car and the building all are tangible to economics.
Patents, copyrights, trademarks, brand recognition and goodwill are intangible. To better explain this at a few places they say it's very simple what I touch is tangible and what I feel is intangible. So basically emotions are intangible. Emotions of anger, hate, joy, sorrow, and love are all intangible. It was all going good for me till I read love is intangible.
I thought of why I think love is tangible.
Why couldn't I just agree as I did with everything else?
I rack my brains, the gears there a little rusty all the time but a perfect clockwork.
It brings me to the day I purchased the Indian cricket team jersey for an event in my office. Before wearing the jersey I touch the letters INDIA and then the logo. This is it. I disagree with economics, love is tangible
And then I think of a soldier,
A soldier's love for the flag. The way it triggers an outpour of his emotions when he touches his love, when he touches the flag. It is tangible for a soldier because he can touch the flag and flag means love to a soldier.
Then I think of a farmer,
A farmer's love for the soil, Soil means love to the farmer. A farmer touches the soil, he works on it, he smells it, he cares for it. A farmer understands the soil.
What I want to conclude is love can really be tangible if it is unmatched and unparelleled. Like that of a soldier or a farmer or of a freak psyche fan. If you could love anything this way never believe economics when it says love is intangible.
So economics goes wrong about love, why?
Because economics is all brains and love it is completely no brains. To understand love you need another organ, the brain is not sufficient.
Dedicated to all those who make me what I am. Who make me think love is tangible.
Signing off with a hope that all of you find someone or something that could make love tangible and economics wrong for you.
